Introducing the Prince George Symphony Youth Orchestra!
Apr 6, 2022

Enjoy meeting and playing marvellous music with other youth from your community with similar interests.

Learn valuable musical skills such as listening, timing, intonation and more.

Study with our fabulous music director Roxi Dykstra who is a wonderful teacher and conductor as well as being a whole heap of fun! We will also have guest clinicians who will help you hone your playing in sectionals.

Experience playing under the baton of PGSO conductor Michael Hall who will be our guest conductor.

The program is free for participants thanks to the Prince George Conservatory, the Prince George Symphony Orchestra and the BC Arts Council! There will be two groups: one for students who are at the end of Suzuki book 1 to book 3 or Royal Conservatory of Music levels 1- 4 and another group for more advanced students. Rehearsals will be at the Trinity Downtown church on Mondays at 6:00-8:30pm. The exact rehearsal times will be set once we have a better idea of how many students will be participating at each level, but the hope is to have the intermediate students rehearse approximately 6:00-6:45 and then be joined by the advanced students until 7:15 (with a short break included). The advanced students would continue until 8:30pm. The first rehearsal will be April 25th and will finish the week of June 6th. We will have a weekend of rehearsals and activities and a concert June 11th/12th. There will not be a rehearsal on May 23rd because of the long weekend.
