Godber will succeed outgoing director Allison Bell and will assume responsibilities on September 1st, 2021."We are delighted that Shoshanna has taken on the Artistic Director position at the Conservatory,” said Jody Newham, Administrator for the Prince George Conservatory of Music. “Through her many years of teaching she has demonstrated her passion and commitment to the development of music education in our community. We're really excited to see where her vision takes us." Ms. Godber has been on the faculty of the Prince George Conservatory of Music since 2012 as its harp and Music for Young Children instructor. Godber brings to the role her 18 years of experience teaching music, her skill at running a successful private music studio and the knowledge she gained while working for other non-profits.
“Shoshanna will be an enthusiastic and dedicated Artistic Director. This is an exciting and positive step ahead for the Conservatory, and I look forward to seeing Shoshanna’s further accomplishments in this position,” said Mary Clare Lewis, President of the Conservatory Board of Directors. Godber commented: “Although there are significant challenges facing the arts community the Conservatory has been Prince George’s only non-profit music school for over 30 years, and I am confident that we will continue to provide quality professional instruction to our community. We have recently hired two new teachers - Dustin Anderson (piano) and Flora Camuzet (cello) and together with our other talented teachers we are looking forward to many more years of musical discovery, creation and education!”
