Raised in Créteil, France, Flora graduated in 2003 from the CNSMD of Lyon after studying with the renowned cellist Yvan Chiffoleau. During that time she also had the privilege of studying with Patrick Gamard and the Ravel and Debussy quartets. After finishing her studies in Lyon Flora received grants to study in Budapest (Erasmus exchange) at the Franz Liszt Music Academy. Flora has appeared as an orchestra musician and chamber music player with the Verbier Festival Orchestra and Chamber Orchestras and the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival. Following her studies, Flora was a founding member of the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra near Osaka, Japan under the baton of Yukata Sado. Flora moved to Lisbon, Portugal to raise her daughters and perform with the Gulbenkian Orchestra, Opéra Sao Carlos.
Flora and her family moved to Prince George in 2016 to become the Principal Cellist of the PGSO and to teach at the PG Conservatory of Music. In 2019 she was also awarded the position of Principal Cellist with the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra.
Flora has been studying Suzuki cello pedagogy with Tanya Carey in Chicago, IL since 2018, and she has completed her SAA cello teacher training in Units 1-3.
In 2020 Flora moved to Edmundston NB to serve as the string director of the El Sistema program which promotes music as a means to empower youth and create social change. She strongly believes that music can improve lives and is constantly working with fellow musicians to share her enthusiasm for the art.
