Allison Bell has been a full time violin teacher and active musician in northern B.C. for the past several years and served as the the Artistic Director at the PGCM from 2014-2021. She regularly plays with the PGSO and performs with various chamber groups in Prince George. Allison has a Bachelor of Music degree from Brandon University and is a former student of Paule Prefonteyn, She has studied a variety of pedagogical approaches and brings a practical and eclectic style of teaching. She is also an avid potter and sculptor.
Ages: 6 years to adult
Teaching method:
Uses a blend of Suzuki and RCM methods, supplemented with other materials according to students’ individual needs and interests. Excellent technique and musical literacy are a primary focus at all levels.
Genres:
Students explore various repertoire styles as they progress.
Group Options:
Violin Group, Tuesdays 7:00 pm starting March 1. Students must be enrolled in private lessons at the Conservatory or with an instructor in the community to attend.
Performance Opportunities:
Encourages students to participate in recitals, at least one per semester, festivals, community events and music parties.
